Skills for Future

Advancing next-generation skills & education system alignment

Tomorrow’s building stock will be shaped by today’s students and apprentices. With Skills for Future – Building Sector, Belimo Climate Foundation supports applied education that equips young professionals with the skills needed to plan, implement and operate low-emission buildings.

What we do

Skills for Future – Building Special equips apprentices and teachers with the knowledge and skills needed to contribute to climate action in the building sector. Together with myclimate, we develop job-specific, practice-oriented learning materials, integrate hands-on project work into vocational education, support teachers as key multipliers for climate action and embed climate and energy efficiency topics into vocational training for the long term. Through close collaboration with vocational schools, we ensure that all learning formats are aligned with curricula, teaching methods, and real-world professional practice.

• Develope • developing job specific, practice oriented learning materials • integrating hands on project work into classroom teaching • supporting teachers as key multipliers • ensuring long term integration of climate content into vocational training• Support education partners with expert input and access to practice• Focus on skills that matter: diagnostics, system thinking, quality in execution• Strengthen long-term capacity in the building sector through multiplier partners

„What particularly inspires me about this initiative is that it combines real-world climate action with education. While the projects deliver measurable CO₂ reductions today, the knowledge and skills students gain will continue to create impact for years to come.“
Peter Amacher, BBZH Vocational school teacher, Zurich Vocational School for Construction
